Hermes was honored to be titled Delta, even though he had lost his potential at being heir to the throne. Over the past few moons, the skyborne lad understood more and more as to why Aeolus was chosen to rule over Sabertooth: his patience, his lack of negative affiliations with any pack, and his fairness. Hermes let himself be ruled by impulsivity as they grew up. And that cost him. It cost him not only his chance at alpha-ship, but it also cost him the life of the girl he wished to live with until death do them part. His actions also put their family at risk, losing many of his siblings to injury from the war or sickness from the wretched plague that arose after the conflict. The skyborne male tried his best to put on a brave face, but the new bloodline he had, because of the plague, gave him a visual reminder of his actions every time he looked at himself. Patches of his fur and skin looked “decayed”, as if his physical wounds from the Sabertooth and Tarben fight would never heal, when in fact, they were healed. Hermes did not have to worry about them getting infected – they no longer oozed, bled, or seeped. The physical wounds were only a reminder of the mental and emotional wounds he took from the combat and would never wish that upon anyone. Aeolus was smart for putting him in the delta position. If combat should ensue once again, some may think he was frail with the spots that looked decayed, but the skyborne lad was fit as a fiddle. Hermes still did not know of what might happen should someone wound him and the irritant his body would ooze, but when he found out, it would be to his advantage. For now, he was to train new warriors amongst the Sabertooth family, alongside Derevko. From what Hermes could remember, Derevko had put up a good fight on the battlefield as well, and clearly, Aeolus saw something in her. Hermes had yet to figure out what, but them being assigned as rank-mates, he’d surely find out. Therefore, not long after the meeting concluded, Hermes called out to Derevko. ”Derevko! Can we chat?” He shouted, but his tone was not demanding in the slightest, just a bit loud. If she had already started to walk away from the meeting, he moved into a light jog to follow her as he spoke, wanting to catch up. If she stayed behind, much like he had, Hermes’s voice would not be as loud. Upon getting her attention, Hermes would say ”I know the meeting just concluded, but I’d like to discuss our plans, strengths, weaknesses, and the like, given that Aeolus assigned us to be deltas together.” He spoke, his magenta eyes expressing seriousness, but if Derevko could see the curious glint hidden behind his stare, he’d spill. What was going on between his brother and this girl? Surely Aeolus would have said something if they were soulmates…right? Aeolus certainly took that more seriously than Hermes himself in the past, given their parents were soulmates and were wonderful to each other. Actions and Thoughts/Others and "Speaking."
