Swallowtail had been informing Elise, Gwydion and Castiel about the marriage pact between all the packs, and to be fair, Cas was a bit nervous for when she found him a match. He knew Gwydion was the one to be worried about; his stoic soldier of a brother preferred to spend his time tracking, training, or hunting. He kind of pitied Gwydion’s future wife; that girl would be in for a childless, loveless marriage, most like. Of course, a miracle could happen. Their cousin needed to hit on the right personality for even the slightest chance for that union to really work. But Castiel? He, himself? He wasn’t sure what he’d want, and he was scared to enter into an arranged marriage; he had always planned to take a mate because of love, not marry a girl he didn’t even know for the sake of peace between the packs of Starfall. A realm he never even knew existed until he and his brother toppled into it, together to find their lost cousins and discover that one was now Queen of Sindri.
She had killed to earn that crown. Cas had seen how the members of Sindri trusted Swallowtail - but she hadn’t only slain the Mad Queen in combat; she’d killed the fire Elemental’s daughter too. Of course, Cas could not fault Swallowtail. Every report he’d heard stated that Helene, the girl, had been attacking the zeta Soliel. But it still unsettled him to know that his cousin could kill so easily.
The lake was peaceful. It allowed the fish-scaled man time and peace to think: about his dear cousin, most specifically. The Queen of Sindri was in love with Alexandria, the new addition to Sindri. He’d never thought Swallowtail to be capable of being attracted to females, yet she had clearly fallen for the pretty living jewel. She unsettled Castiel. He had a feeling that this could never work for Swallowtail. Yet, he would be respectful. Let them be, though he wanted to watch them. He could not suffer for his cousin to be hurt by this woman.
