I agree AA - One of the few parts of the BBC (it's local programming), that at times provided a valuable service, has been reduced or scrapped - & to replace it, with services that may compete with established commercial Radio services - is just not on
I can see them aping Caroline's "Best music from all decades" laced with LA Jingles
- & call it Radio one & a half !! - Perhaps not, but there is a threat to other established services - remember, the BBC is funded by the TV tax - using the internet to add more stations, is of course, CHEAP - little wonder that SKY are moving away from Satellites & using the net, which of course may slow it all down for some - but they won't care about that!

My first thoughts are that the BBC has been making drastic cuts to radio services so expanding into more makes no sense at all. They seem to be talking about creating specialist offshoots which should definitely be left to community stations and the commercial sector. In my view, the BBC already has too many national services.
