This is the conduit through which control is exerted. It is the very definition of propaganda when one is addicted to watching this stuff; thought served up so you don't have to think. Its all very attractive and convenient and engaging. A new dose is there ready for you as quickly as you can swallow the last one and say either, "That's right!" or "That pisses me off!"
This is why we elected the government we're about to endure and inflict on the world, a government made up of those who could finance the propaganda and who own the conduits through which it is pumped. This is what has replaced the press as a valuable "estate". This is what has taken the place of discussion in the clubs, debate in the square; forms that require two way communication, not one-way absorption.
This is the fog that is now clearing for those few you point out in your other thread about trump voters regretting their vote. I don't believe they are in the main but that vid is made to appeal to those who wish it was so. More bullshit.
None of this is personal; its a warning perhaps. I don't "trust" it. It isn't a "source". It is not reporting or that often uncomfortable and awkward friend now deceased, the press. It is something dangerous and insidious and dystopian and now pervasive, the media. I loathe what it has become and what it does to us all.
It is thought served up for you with a purpose. It is what makes us angry, not think (for thought in the wrong hands is dangerous. Grin!). It is what makes us hate. Indeed it is what makes us kill. The shear volume of this crap, geared only to evoke unmodulated maximum-volume emotion whether anger or self-righteousness, is the true enemy of thought, reason, social progress balanced with the preservation of tradition that is good, positive thought, the list goes on.
As a friend, I'll put this thought to you. The next time you and Tam catch yourselves shouting at the screen, ask yourselves why.
