Giant was the premier grocery purveyor in the Mid-Atlantic region until acquired by Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize N. V. The Dutch have "managed" to sharply reduce the quality of the brand, sometimes criminally, in the name of the "omnichannel experience", whatever the eff that is.

As far as Aldi goes, it seems a store largely favoring the sprout-eater types. Sorry, not a fan of a shop that requires a nominal deposit on a grocery cart in the name of not employing a kid to keep tabs on the trolleys in the parking lot.
