Maybe not completely... they didn't say "it's a financial decision because we are being extorted by Donald Trump"... but nonetheless.
Seems obvious to me that they were fine with Colbert trashing Trump up UNTIL it was going to affect their finances. And since Trump is back in office now, grabbing power, bullying and doing all kinds of illegal stuff that can and will affect their bottom line... they're not "fine with trashing Trump" anymore.
