A community organizer is a lawyer who works pro bono and or donates his law services to poor communities in fights against corporate destruction.
In one Obama fight, he saved a neighborhood targeted for replacement by a powerful group of wealthy businessmen who wanted the property for a mall.
When I heard somebody use the term "community organizer," I asked them what that was. They never knew. They didn't bother to look it up and learn the definition.
Both Barack and Michele were community organizers, and they did that to say thanks and pay back to society a perceived debt for the opportunity both were given to become lawyers from Harvard Law School.
