The DEMs couldn't continue the fight for ACA because the GOP was NEVER going to give in. So continuing simply made things worse for the starving millions.

Strategically and pragmatically, it made more sense for them to back down now and LET the GOP completely own this fiasco!

The majority of folks who were hungry and who will suffer from what the GOP has done are in RED states. People left hungry for 40+ days and who may lose their health insurance because of the Republicans won't forget who really dud this to them. They care enough to find out rather than listen to the GOP bullsh*t. When December rolls around and the GOP votes down the ACA benefits, no one will be able to blame the DEMs anymore.

The GOP claim the DEMs just want illegals to get the help, but voters are already discovering that it is THEM who are being hurt, NOT illegals who couldn't fet the subsidies OR the ACA in the first place.

Would you prefer that they simply continued letting trump fire federal workers, those left never get paid, destroy the airline safety unions, millions starve, to fight for something that both Johnson and trumpwere willing to let happen because they were NEVER going to give in?

Those who voted for it with the GOP did sobwith the tacit approval of the leaders of the party specifically because they COULDN'T be primaries. That allowed the rest of the DEMs to vote NO.
