When we were in Ecuador on the equator, we visited this monument building that was supposed to have been built right on the equator. They had brought in all these well known scientists and mathematicians so they could place it precisely on the line. Well, guess what… they were off by several feet. And then they told us to look at a yonder hill that had a pole on top of it. It was put there long before by the native people. They said THAT was precisely on the equator.
