I think earlier humans were probably more atuned to nature than modern humans, because they had to be to survive. Now days we live in air-conditioned houses and air-conditioned cars. And we watch "alternative realities" created for us on TV and in the movies. Even our sports arenas have to have domes on them now.

Too many modern humans have created or enjoyed an artificial barrier between us and nature, so that now we can't even see the trees for the forest, or vise versa.

Take climate change for instance, or weapons of mass destruction. We have become so comfortable, spoiled and protected... we often can't even see the dangers or realities right in front of us.

Also, as a safety mechanism, too many have created or bought into superstitions and widespread beliefs in the supernatural, with this 'all powerful God' or parent image in their minds as a way to further isolate or insulate themselves from the dangers and realities of nature.

I was recently in a museum that had a lot of the Egyptian artifacts... I forget what you call those little tokens or 'people' they created to bury with those who had died, so that they would have protection, servants and sustenance for their continued journey into the afterlife.

One of my brothers told me that he recently had a conversation with and asked my sister (who is very religious) what she was going to do in heaven? She became so frustrated that she ended up telling him that he was going to hell! Mind you, this same sister told my other brother that if donald trump decided to bomb the hell out of Iran, it would be okay because the people there would deserve it as they are "evil" anyway and it would just be God's will.

I'm afraid this is the kind of thinking we are now dealing with. It's crazy. And it's dangerous.
