Schumer has learned some of the lessons of the past, as I hope the American people have also... that the politics of division have only served to enable people like trump to corrupt and cash in on all the distractions. I'd rather see people unite behind him as leader than to drag out another fight. I think the whole country needs more unity at this point to root out and overcome the real and important issues that matter most.

Also, I think people have to be willing to forgive in order to move forward... not to forgive the continued corruption, but be willing to get past the blind loyalties, grudges and misguided faith that led us to the most corrupt and destructive administration in history.

I especially liked the acceptance speeches of Hamilton (KS) and Telerico (TX) where they talked about loving your neighbor (real Christianity, in my view) and treating people according to the golden rule, no matter who you are or what your personal beliefs may be. That, IMO, is what we need going forward. But we also have to talk about justice and rooting out corruption, like getting rid of Citizens United and stock trading for members of Congress. THAT, would be a great start, IMO.

Also, I was encouraged to see this... a shakeup in the Justice Department already.
