Oh, that explains what looked like not the ideal position for them, when I looked at the photo of where they had been installed, that makes perfect sense now!
We are 'considering' 15 more panels which will reach the capacity that the inverter can handle, providing another 6.5KW in good conditions.
Again, makes sense, it would make bigger savings on the electric bill, especially when eventually a power increase is finally agreed, if not soon, hopefully in the future.
I seem to remember a comment about looking at battery storage costs, but I am guessing that wouldn’t make economical sense, whilst the cost of batteries are coming down, I think they’re still north of £2k for the 3-4Kwh ones, commonly installed in domestic properties.
The sort of system to store enough power of any real use for the Orfordness site would be eye-wateringly expense!
