But of course, as it's Aquiva or the BBC - money no object
I think also, much of the PR, is to get more people to change to smart meters - My Lady friend has been bombarded with that from her supplier - she has a non RTS 9 year old Landis & gyr which keeps perfect time - but they want it changed - so they don't need to read it I guess.

My pal Freddie wondered:

- perhaps the DX50 will not cover long wave?

Oh, not a bit of it Freddie. The DX50 will o[erate as low as 150 kHz, and some of their sisters will go much lower. I know of one operating down at 77 kHz. They are more stable they lower the frequency.
The Harris DX range was available in 10/50/100/200 and 1MW models. The Hungarian station on 540 is a 2MW model, (yes, that TWO Megawatts). The technology is identical at Medium Wave or Long Wave - a few coils are bigger, but otherwise, there is no difference.
We had a Harris DX500 ordered for the Isle of Man (279 kHz) and lost our deposit on it.
