On the photo, there is a substantial line running diagonally from what would become Crawley Avenue, running up, to the right, into the Cemetery, seemingly cutting off the lower right-hand corner of the Cemetery. The substantial wall (that borders "The Cut") seems to stop at that point.

Now I KNOW that the Cemetery is roughly square shaped, and the High wall ran to that lower right-hand corner, then turned 90 degrees, running right to left, parallel to what would be Queens Crescent.

So the daft question(s) was the Cemetery smaller, back then?
And the wall extended, to make it square-ish?

And what IS that line? Too big to be a hedge, comparing other hedges in the photo...
