I sat my 11+ in 1950. As I understood the results of the exam of those who got 120 marks out of 200 were recorded in numerical order of correct answers. The Grammar School got the number of pupils they wanted off the top. The Central School got their number next. Any left at the bottom didn't pass. Maybe that's how Clegwell got their special class years later.
