Norman, you are absolutely correct. Russia may not be the democratic country we think the UK is but we owe so much to the Russian people who lost so much during ww2. Russia lost its way when the USSR was disbanded and replaced by the west with NATO. Now surrounded not with a series of buffer countries but a potential enemy on their doorstep of course they are worried. We may have sympathy with Ukraine but let us not forget that country WAS allied with Germany during WW2. That country was in support of the Nazis when Britain stood alone. I dont think Russia has ever attacked Great Britain, France or Germany. I am certain that the reverse is not true. I hope I don't come across as a communist lover. I am not, politics and I move in different directions. However, truth is something our present government doesn't respect. Unfortunately, this can be said for most politicians.
