I would note that it’s entirely possible and easy for Muslims to wear conservative clothing without advertising their religion here in this country. After all, that is what most Muslim men do. They do NOT wear their ‘traditional’ dress here, at least not in public.
So it seems that Muslim men deliberately take measures to “fit in” in western cultures, while Muslim women do NOT take the same measures to fit in. Why do you think that is, unless they are being compelled to NOT fit in?
Also note that western women visiting Muslim countries ARE often compelled to wear a head scarf to ‘fit in’ or show ‘respect’ while in their country, whereas western men visiting those countries are NOT compelled to wear traditional Muslim headwear in order to show respect or fit in. Do you not find that odd…. or telling?
