No hatred, but concern is a likely result.
In western culture, covering ones face is abnormal. We expect people to look each other in the face.
WHY a person chooses to cover their face doesn't really matter to me. They might have a deformity and be self conscious. It might be religious. They might be hiding from the mob.
But it remains a socially and culturally abnormal behavior in most of the world.
We all see presumably Muslim women covering their faces. I don't feel any sort of anger or hatred for them.
But concern? Yes. I do immediately wonder if they are OK. If they are wearing that because they choose to or because they are being forced/coerced into wearing it. And of course if they are being restricted in other ways in their live that we would consider unethical/immoral or even illegal in western society. Is she in need of help/protection from an illegally restrictive family?
