"without worrying about them punching us for being jerks." Which is why it happens. People hide behind their screens, ignoring the fact that there is a living, feeling human being they are insulting. Maybe its one of the many problems of war - we can fly over an area, drop ordinance, and fly away without even seeing the faces of those we kill. We can shoot off missiles from far away. We sanitized the horrors of war, removed ourselves from its ugliness because we can now kill from a distance. If world leaders had to stay on front lines, on the ground with the troops, I imagine a lot of the violence would come to an end. But we don't live in that world.
