Self-editing is a bear, but there are things about writing you need to remember.

- don't use passive language
- don't use the same word too close to each other
- use rich, descriptive language
- footnote, footnote, footnote

If I'm not sure, I read a segment out loud.

Does it take more time? Yes, but my name is going on that book so I better be damn sure I can stand behind it.
