Reinhold Messner's career and achievements are absolutely mind boggling*
 Previous Message covered a bit below, but only about 1/3rd of everest is in nepal, the rest is in tibet. the only path up on the nepal side is via traversing a glacier (khumbu icefall) in a steep V-shaped valley. unfortunately, with it being a glacier, it has crevasses and it moves. there's no way to fix permanent routes or go around it but once you get past it, this is the "easy" side to climb.
