there's no other path from that side

it's steep-walled mountain on either side with a glacier coming down the middle. and the glacier, being a glacier, moves. and the glacier, being a glacier, has crevasses.
the tibetan side has no icefall to contend with, but the top is much more technically difficult and it's obviously much more difficult to get a permit.
