especially the closeted player, in order to provide filler when they from 30 mins to an hour.

It’s an episodic comedy based on an absurd premise which was in turn based on a 4 minute TV spot SNL-style sketch. Almost nothing is organic.

the women's team angle just feels forced. Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic for a new season, which I am sure will be awesome. You're correct, MAGA ain't watching Ted Lasso, as soccer is a low t faggot sport.

in their divorce, a coach who is all about positivity and good feels yet deals with anxiety and panic attacks, and includes a gay player who stays in the closet until he's no longer able, only to be fully embraced by his teammates and another player (an immigrant, no less) that refuses to support the club's main sponsor after finding out the horrible things that company has done to his home country only to, again, be supported by all of his teammates. that's a pretty "woke" show to begin with. I don't think coaching a women's team is the straw that breaks the camels back here.
