Last week the owner and I went and picked up a 1000 lbs of dried apricots from their family orchard.
This week we're eyes deep in bottlings.
We are currently running an invitational make your own gin competition between accounts.
This weekend I have a distillery openhouse on Saturday to celebrate the launch of 2 new skus.
The work is varied and there's never enough time for ALL of it...I love it and I truly enjoy leaving the house to come to work every day. The only thing that gives me pause is like this week in bottling...how long past 50 can I stack 20lb cases, repetitively for days on end? How long past 50 can I stack 50lb bags of sugar until I get to 2000 lbs. How long can I push 2000lb pallets around...or crawl under or into tanks to clean or connect fittings or troubleshoot things?
Those are the things that give me pause, not the rest of it.

I’ve been in my new job for about 6 months and I love it. We’re a small scrappy distillery…so I get to wear a bunch of hats and have a lot more influence than I did at my last job.
That said, the physical part is way more demanding than I expected. I was arrogant and this is much harder. I’m adapting but have been thinking, if this works…can I do this til I’m 60 or so?
I would imagine you find a way to make it work given the alternative…but it’s daunting.
