Looks like Guy Gardner is coming next episode.
My guess is he's Plan C for the Guardians and will get the ring. That ties him into the Superman franchise as it was 2016 (current year for the Lantern series) when he appeared in the latest Superman movie.
Not sure what happens with Hal and John.
We do know that John will eventually get the ring (at least in the cartoons and comics)
