They addressed that in the parent meeting and said coaches will not have discussions with parents on things like playing time. If players have questions they can ask coaches what they should work on to try and earn more. Probably somewhat reduces potential for those kinds of parent/ coach interactions but they also make a point of saying playing time is general equally distributed as a matter of club philosophy at that age. They also said that it's harder and harder to find officials and if you engage an official at all you risk being banned from further matches. Sad they have to address it, but I've seen enough to understand why. Previous Message As a sports parent you can think it, but saying? nope. Previous Message As always, this is 9yr old soccer so...it doesnt mat Our club has 3 levels of teams A, B, and C. Last year there was one team each level, nice and easy stuff. They had a huge influx of kids for this year, so there is now 1 A, 2B, 2C. When they sent out rosters, it looked to us returning parents like it was clear which one of the B teams was supposed to be a bit stronger. One of the parents that thinks their kid is the next Messi was on the supposedly weaker B team (along with my kid, who should be on the weaker B team). She immediately starts campaigning to have him switched because there's NO way he should be on the weaker of the teams. Coach says whatever, moves him. Turns out that the brand new kids that got put on the "stronger" team are actually a trainwreck and my kid's team got the best out of the newer kids. Also, the returning kids that got put on the stronger team aren't really doing as well this year. Our team won the beginning of year tournament, theirs did not. Our team won half of the games in fall, their team lost all except one. They've lost every single one of their indoor games, we've won them all. Annoying mom tried to get her son switched again, club told her pound sand.
