Many faithful Catholics resisted that, because the "rules" for centuries did not allow cremated remains of the deceased at the funeral. Once the Church changed, many faithful Catholics followed the cremation path, including my mother. Another little wrinkle was at some cemeteries, such as Arlington. In-ground burials are tightly restricted, whereas cremation can get you in, stashed in the columbaria. That's what my inlaws did, or else they'd be somewhere else. Previous Message
