My youngest (now 18) had mild sensory issues and would have meltdowns when removed from his comfort zone. He also has very mild social delay (originally thought to be just shy). Otherwise he's extremely intelligent (has scored high enough to take every AP course offered in High School). Take him out of his comfort zone (computers/electronics) and force him to do something he still melts down and shuts down.

I wouldn't think anything to do with lead, live in a house built in the 90's and don't think we have any other exposure for it. He's also very smart (I'm the dad I know I would think this) and were not seeing any developmental delays.
We live in the Champaign area. Carle's pediatric neurology is what we were waiting on for the EEG, but would be open for anything additional they could look at.
