Equanimity is a crucial life skill that can be learned and practiced. And it is much needed to negotiate life’s difficulties, all the more so if you are an anxious type. I recommend trying out short guided meditations for a limited period of time (like 10 minutes per day for three weeks). I like the Calm app, though I’m not sure how much of the content is free (I’m a subscriber). Daily Calm is focused on breath work…Daily Trip is more freewheeling (my preference). Also highly recommend reading Thich Nhat Hanh. At Home in the World is a nice place to start…a collection of small vignettes that illustrate and teach key mindfulness principles such as detachment.
