    it’s pretty simple. question will be for the handful of non power 5 fb and bb programs, men and women, that actually make money or close to it. for the olympic sports they will just continue to exist on hand me down money.

    I’m pretty sure that colleges (DI, perhaps just Power 4 and select others) will tire of this NIL mess and declare their student athletes to be professionals. The schools will pay the players directly and eliminate the 4-5 year eligibility rules. Players can play for the school as long as they want/can.

    Think something like the G League. If the players are good enough, they can be drafted/signed to the NFL or NBA. If not, they can sign contracts to play for the school of their choice. Instead of washing out in the “big leagues” after 2-3 years, they can make a good living playing for colleges. Think Tony DeVito or Sam Howell or Kofi.

    I think within 5-10 years. Or do you think this will never happen?
