about the team that won the ‘21-‘22 title. That was easily his best coaching job, IMO. Think about all the stuff going on with that team..
- Serious issues for Curbelo that lingered over the whole season and had him in and out of the lineup
- Regularly had extensive minutes from lineups with 3 guys 6’0” or below and sometimes with a 6’3” power forward too.
- Plummer was a great shooter but couldn’t guard a chair, which had to be coached around all season long.
- Trent and Grandison were completely broken physically by the end of the season and could barely shoot the ball.
Kofi was obviously a huge difference maker and an elite college talent, but that was the best example of Underwood getting the most out of a roster that was a little light on talent. Purdue not winning the conference when they had Ivey, Edey, and Trevion Williams is hard to believe.
