I would like to do the drive thru glenwood canyon on I-70. I hear it rivals I-84 thru the CR gorge.* Archived Message

Previous Message do-able solo, as you'll be, I gather. IMO, Black Canyon is more stunning than the Grand Canyon in some ways, so it's worth seeing, do doubt. The drive back from Montrose/Black Canyon via 285 is less stressful than I-70, which is, as well documented, a piece of shit. Load up on coffee beans at Tributary Coffee in Gunnison, then hit Dilly Deli for a sandwich for the road. They're right on the way back to Denver. After Gunnison, the pickings are slim when it comes to eats as you drive toward DEN. Previous Message even if to get a taste? **Monday, June 16:** Drive from Denver International Airport (DIA) to Grand Junction – approximately 4.5 hours. **Tuesday, June 17:** Meetings at various and sundry ATLCo plant sites. **Wednesday, June 18:** Visit any other sites you would like to see in the area or catch up on office work. Drive back to Denver. I'm thinking Black Canyon of the Gunnison. But anything else I should look at. I don't think I'll have time for any serious hikes or even longer unserious ones. But I would like to maybe photograph some stuff.

- I’d go to Moab if you can go there Tuesday night. It’s a bit further than black canyon. - GhostofPokeyStixPast May 16, 2025, 18:59:24
