i mean, while classes have generally improved from the bleakness of previous eras, there's no question that the onfield success hasn't really translated into better recruiting. note: i say this as someone who only peripherally follows recruiting, so its entirely possible i'm missing something.

We still don't have the kind of monetary fanbase that can compete with bigger schools in football.
Hoops, yes... football, still going to take time.
And in this ultra competitive environment, it seems like a false step or 2 is all it takes to slide right back to the bottom of the pecking order.
