Much of a law firm's overhead is associate comp, so short answer, yeah, reducing 📂 Archived Message

associate overhead is important. Previous Message Given that the firms are charging by the hour, why is it better for them to have 3 employees hating their jobs and getting burned out working 70 hours a week, rather than just having 4 or 5 employees working normal hours? The firm takes in the same amount of revenue either way, so wouldn’t a better model be to have happy employees that will have better retention and won’t be exhausted from working crazy hours? Is the per employee overhead really that high that chewing up and spitting out lawyers through overwork is optimal? Previous Message How many hours do you work a week? Does it vary at all?
