The WASDE report came out today. The previous report predicted an average US corn yield of 181 bushels per acre, the expectation was an increase to 184. The real number was 188.8, and a record total crop. Corn futures dropped 13 cents to $3.94.

Soybeans jumped as a smaller harvest was predicted, but I believe it would still be the 5th highest production ever if the number holds. Bean prices still suck.

Their major markets are China and USAID and, because of Trump, neither is buying. I assume at some price it becomes attractive to US producers as livestock feed, but maybe not.
