Debo who owned personally some wonderful gems including a menagerie of insect brooches...as well having use of the famed Devonshire gems was never mistress of the robes however her husbands mother Mary was to the current Queen at the start of her reign while his grandmother Evelyn Duchess was to Queen Mary  Previous MessageHi guys, there is so much history and treasures mentioned at the seat of the dukes of Devonshire Chatsworth in the UK. I look forward to much debate on the treasures of the family and the late duchess Deborah Freeman-Mitford (Deborah, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire) who was I believe for a while mistress of the robes to either QEQM or the present Queen or both.
