Beautiful broach, thanks again Beth and Maridje. Thanks again, Dave. Previous Message Maridje has very kindly provided the following information and images "The catalogue described it as "An important brooch in sapphires and diamonds in the form of twin hearts, each with a large inverted pear shaped sapphire as a centre within two row pave set diamond borders, and with a large pears shaped diamond in a drop. Diamond set fitting. The brooch is adapted for wear as a Bracelet with the fitting accompanying this lot." The Times 1 December 1961 reported that "An anonymous purchaser gave £9,800 for a diamond and sapphire brooch in the form of twin hearts" Deborah, Duchess of Devonshire wearing the jewel as a brooch. Many thanks Maridje for the superb photos and the information.
