We played a competitive schedule this fall, and of course, every athlete on the team wishes they had performed better at times. Everyone knew what they were getting into, we knew it would be a tough at times. Every team and family has a decision to make on how they want their experience to be; we chose a road that, at times, was going to provide some challenges, and I’m perfectly good with that, and I believe others on the team are as well. If we’re going to be judged for that and people will look at that as a bad thing, because of our avg, then I’m sorry you feel that way; I can’t help you there.
What I do know is that each of these kids has been in at OGX working their asses off the week right after our last tournament. There was no break, they got back into the gym and did not accept the fall as the final destination. This team will be better. There is absolutely no doubt about that.
This whole thing is a rat race, and I get the emotions that run high, but for the love of God, focus on your own kid getting better. When you start comparing your kid or team to another, discontent will set in, and it will become a miserable experience. There is only a limited amount of time they get to play the game.
