His eyes kept on the clearing, waiting to see who would show first. It had been a while since he kept up with his daughter, Ayara. He'd like to see how she'd grown, and if she too had gained any new features as he and Themis did. But she wasn't the first to come -- Valkyrie was. Something tugged at his heart, the last time he had seen her she was just a teenager, wingless -- And with her brothers. Why was she here alone? "So you remarried . . . I guess you gave up on mother, though I did too. Ajax is gone, and Bullet died. I just buried him by the lake, we can have a service there if you'd like later. I'm sure he'd love to see you. The crown suits you, and I'm sure Ayara loves being a Princess. I'd like to stay here too, if you and your wife are okay with it." His heart shattered, out of four only two survived here. He simply nodded and waited for his beloved, knowing she probably wouldn't be long. Themis needed to meet his other daughter, her and Ayara were his last children -- And it broke his heart.
Next came a not so familiar face, but a welcomed one. He had seen her briefly before, but it had been some time. "King Mabbit, Princess Valkyrie, it’s Evangeline. I’ve returned". He nodded to her, sitting silent still. His beautiful skylit wife emerged and nuzzled into him, a smile crossed his face as she spoke. "Hello, my love." He looked to meet her golden gaze, small tears welling in his eyes as he blinked them away. "Hello, beautiful. I missed you." He said softly to her. "This is my daughter, Valkyrie. She, and Ayara are the last of my children now . . . Bullet and Ajax are gone." He nearly choked on the last part. No, he needed to be strong. More of the pack would be showing, and he didn't need to share this news with the others. They didn't need to see him weak.
"Valkyrie, I've heard so much about you. I'm Themis, Queen of these lands. I'd be honored to have you stay with us here, you'd be considered a Princess alongside Ayara, if you'd like." she spoke gently. "I have to ask.. are you alright my dear? I.. I'm not sure if you'd like to talk after this meeting. The offer is open in case you need it, ok?" His wives words to his daughter were kind, and he loved that. He smiled at her, and then to Valkyrie. "We can speak after the meeting, and we can visit Bullet." He said with a reassuring smile. "I'm glad you're okay, and that you're here. I've missed you, and I'm sure your sister would love to see you again as well." He said softly. He looked to Evangeline as Themis spoke to her. "It's good to see you, Evangeline. I'm glad to see you alive and well." He nodded, a smile on his face towards the teen.
"It's really good to be back. How are you?" He began to tune out the small talk of the two, his paws felt cold and clammy. Why did he lose those he cared so much about? Sako was gone, and he had gotten over that. But his children? He'd mourn until the day he died. No parent should have to bury their child, and no sibling at that. He could only imagine the heartbreak and trauma poor Valkyrie was going through. He snapped out of it as an unfamiliar male wandered in, speaking nothing. He cleared his throat before Themis spoke to him first. "Welcome, newcomer. What's your name? I'm Themis, Queen of these lands. This is my mate, Mabbit. We're glad to have you here." He grinned at the male, maybe a new soldier? "My name is Vaughn, miss. I'd like to join. My lady, your fur is really quite exquisite. How did it get like that?" Mabbit chuckled softly at his question. "She was changed, as most of us were. Stars fall and seem to change those around them. It's good to meet you Vaughn." The King spoke to him, appearing cheery.
Childrens voices came from the trees and out stepped three young ones and their mother. They silenced as their mother hushed them, and in they came. Themis once again chimed in to speak to them. "Welcome, young ones. Welcome to you as well, We're glad to have you, to provide you with safe lands. What are your names?" He let her finish before he spoke with a smile. "I'm Mabbit, and this is my mate Themis. We're the alphas of these lands." He greeted them warmly in an attempt for them to tell them their names. "I am Elara, madame, and these are my sons, Vader and Skywalker-and daughter Natalya. We are looking for a home." The mother spoke to them, he gave them a nod and a smile. "Welcome to your new home, this is Amberbjorne." He felt a sudden dark energy enter the area, and Themis pushed into him. He stood strong to let her lean, noticing she too was affected by the energy switch - Phobus.
"Mother. Mabbit." He spoke to them before sitting at the front, not to far from Valkyrie. He noted the gaze he swept onto her, a bit of anger pinged in his chest as he clenched his jaws shut. He had better not lay a claw on her. He couldn't put his finger on it yet, but he was certain that there was something evil and sinister about him. "Where's Deimus." The cold, small talk from this man even reeked of venom. "I'm here. Sorry." The ivory prince chimed in as he took his place under the rock, apposing Phobus. A small twinge of a smile hit his jaws. "Hi, mother. Mabbit, it's good to see you." He spoke to them, a smile crossing his face. "Phobus. It's nice to see you here. Haven't seen you at a pack meeting recently." Themis said shortly, seemingly noting that he was eyeing up his daughter. "Hellow, Deimus. It's good to see you here. We'll have to talk more wedding preparations today, it'lll be happening soon!" He grinned at his wives happiness, truly Demius had come a long way. "Phobus." He spoke shortly before returning his attention to Demius, he gave him a nod. "I'm proud of you Demius." He said with a smile.
His beautiful beloved looked to him. "My love, would you like to run this pack meeting? Or would you like me to share the good news to the pack?" He smiled at her, before looking back to the pack and then to her again. "I think you should, my love." He said softly to her. Where was Ayara? His thoughts began to race, as did his heart. Did something happen to her too? He wouldn't be able to take it, not another one of his children. Thankfully, in walked the spitting image of her mother. She had horns, like him. He smiled warmly at her. ”Hello father, hello Valkyrie, and hello Themis.” He felt the coldness in her voice and gulped loudly. "Hello, Ayara. I love your horns, they suit you well." He said softly in her direction. His rubies attempted to make contact with her china blues. "After the meeting, I'd like if you, your sister, Themis and I took a walk to the lake." He said, soft again as he tried to contain his sadness over Bullet and Ajax. He turned his attention back to Themis, waiting for her to spill the beans on the wedding and alliance with Hawthorne and Dawnshire.
