All signs in her appearance of Daneliya had disappeared, except for her eyes. But they were slightly different too, her new form was bright blue, she had wings, she had clouds even. He marveled at her in between their conversation, the Demons bloodline was known for just that - Demon like wolves. Why had he been paired again with another, let alone one looking originally so similar to his ex? He didn't dwell on it long, he couldn't in her presence. Not at this time, he was too captivated.
”Well… I cannot lie to myself – I have feelings for you. That much is evident. This is just…new to me. These feelings. This appearance even. Please just…bear with me for a second. Maverick, I would love to continue down this path with you.” His smile was met with her own, though he watched every action she took smiling. His plume curled around his toes as he sat, noticing her smile fade as she stared at him. His head tilted to the side. ”About that…Maverick. The tie.” He watched her still, his breath freezing in his lungs again. Was he about to lose her just like that? ”Daneliya is my mother.”
His eyes widened, no, one of the ones Daneliya had been looking for? That's who he saved, and the other he saw perish? ”I completely understand if you wish to sever the tie because of her. But there is a greater power led me to not leave Hawthorne, to become soul-tied with you, and for the recent gaining of my wings and pelt. I am only asking you consider it. I understand if you need to take your time because of this, but just know… I need you. I can’t do this grieving thing on my own. I’m sure you can’t either.”
He exhaled sharply, the demon shaking his head and glancing away for a moment. "So then you know about Daneliya and I." It was a statement, but it came out sounding almost like a question. "That explains a bit." He said with a gentle laugh. "If I could explain . . . I don't know what all you heard of that. She was my soulmate, it ran in my family through my mother and father and into myself and my siblings. I connected to Daneliya, but the same day it appeared, she had a "fling" with some random guy in the pack. I had already seen it, and went to see her only to find her smelling of another male. That male. Bristow. We talked about my anger with it, though she deflected it non-stop which should have been my first red flag." He spoke, breathing a sigh. "We mated, and eventually my children were born. Nephilim, Khasinau, and we had a daughter who she also took when she left. She bore Bristows children with ours. It sent me over the edge, and I begged her to either give them to Bristow or leave. She chose to leave, claiming she picked the family. Clearly I wasn't family, and neither were my sons. So I cut the tie, I banished her for betraying me. Using me almost to try and cover up her secret." He shook his head before looking back to her.
"Your mothers issues don't make me not want to be with you Kelsea. If anything, I'd be scared you wouldn't want to be with me." He gave a soft laugh as he audits flattened to his head. "But... I think I need you too. I lost my sibling too, and an uncle. Aya and Uncle Helheim." He said quietly, moving forward if she let him to close the space between them. If she allowed it, he'd go to pull her close with his wing and rest his head on top of hers.
Walk, "Talk", Think.
"Oh sweetheart, oh sweetheart, you're breaking my heart . . ."
