His smile made her heart soar as she spoke to him. Whenever her eyes flicked back to meet Maverick’s, his eyes were either locked onto hers or taking wandering glances at her body. Was she really that stunning? She watched him as he sat before she dropped the hard truth, the fact that Daneliya, her mother, was his prior mate. She was nervous that she’d lose him. Oh so soon after finding him. Her ears perked at the sound of his sharp exhale once she had finished her schpeil, her brown eyes filled with concern as they oriented to look at his head, which shook and his eyes looking to the side for a second, before he started. ”So then you know about Daneliya and I.” She butted in with a ”Vaguely. I-“ but cut herself off when the demon male in front of her continued to speak. ”That explains a bit.” His gruff words were followed by a laugh, Kelsea’s expression changing from a concerned, ears back position to a confused face, head cocking with it. ”If I could explain…” Kelsea nodded, giving him affirmation though he did not need it. ”If I could explain . . . I don't know what all you heard of that. She was my soulmate, it ran in my family through my mother and father and into myself and my siblings. I connected to Daneliya, but the same day it appeared, she had a "fling" with some random guy in the pack. I had already seen it and went to see her only to find her smelling of another male. That male. Bristow. We talked about my anger with it, though she deflected it non-stop which should have been my first red flag. We mated, and eventually my children were born. Nephilim, Khasinau, and we had a daughter who she also took when she left. She bore Bristow’s children with ours. It sent me over the edge, and I begged her to either give them to Bristow or leave. She chose to leave, claiming she picked the family. Clearly, I wasn't family, and neither were my sons. So, I cut the tie, I banished her for betraying me. Using me almost to try and cover up her secret." Kelsea’s face softened as he spoke. She had not had much communication with her mother, however, she knew that she was always in some predicament with males. Learning that this situation was more so her fault eased the angelic looking femme. He shook his head again, his crimson eyes once again meeting her own. ”Your mother’s issues don’t make me not want to be with you Kelsea. If anything, I’d be scared you wouldn’t want to be with me. But…I think I need you too. I lost my sibling too, and an uncle. Aya and Uncle Helheim.” Kelsea watched the nervous demon appearing wolf as he spoke, ears attentive. Her eyes noticed his movements closer, a small smile making its way onto her face. Perhaps her pelt became a little brighter too. That smile grew wider as he pulled her in close with his dracarae wing and rest his head on top of hers. She couldn’t help but let a small giggle leave her maw – was this what love felt like? She’d want to revel in it. She spoke softly, trying to not move her head much as his pitch head lay on it. ”My mother’s opinions do not affect my opinions of you, Mav… can I call you that?” Another laugh left her maw before she continued. ”This feeling is new to me…is it bad that I want to live with it all the time?” She smiled, looking up to him. Of course, it wasn’t bad. It was only natural, especially in their scenario with their tie and not wanting to lose others close to them. She would attempt to nuzzle into his neck, not getting enough of his being. She let the comfortable silence sit for a moment before she spoke once again. ”So, Mav. What kind of pace do you want to take this? If it’s not clear enough, I’m devoted to you. But it’s also understandable if you think we should take time to cope with the losses we experienced, but also develop our relationship more.” Actions and thoughts/others and "Words."
