SO TAKE A SWING AT ME
The Khan watched the savage sea of wolves ripping apart one an other. He on the other hand sat back, disgusted. There was always fighting, hostility, war. It was senseless. Was life that meaningless to the other wolves in the realm? Did Beartooth truly find no love for others besides his family and women? His answers were met when he witnessed the Dane King launch into the Sabertooth Queen. A low blow. His eyes couldn't look away as he watched his so called King end the Queen of their enemy packs life. The horrible screech of Achilles as he witnessed the love of his life be taken away shook him. What if he were to lose Lova? He couldn't bare the thought.
The cackling erupting from Beartooth made him uneasy, watching the poor Sabertooth King cry over his fallen Queen. His ears flattened to his cranium as he heard the King apologize. The Storm Peryton lurched forward as he saw Beartooth tear into the Kings leg, but for what? He had already crippled the pack. Before he could reach them, Beartooth had ripped Achilles leg off and sent him flying He only stopped when a familiar, fiery form pounced onto Beartooth. Soraya. His orange orbs stayed locked on his beloveds parents. It was friendly fire, and between not only two lovers but two royals of Tarben. His eyes stayed on his wifes mother who had the King pinned. ”Beartooth, my love.. I still love you, but I can no longer continue the path that Tarben has committed itself to. Our unborn children deserve a future free from the shackles of war.”
His heart hurt for Soraya, he knew too well the pain of fearing for the sake of their children. She was right. Though, he would never have expected what happened next - He watched his Queen break his Kings neck. Tears streamed down her face. The Khan hadn't realized he was holding his breath, and finally let out an exhale. It was finally over. The bloodshed, the wars and violence. The violent delights had finally found their violent end. He wondered how Lova would feel, but this would likely mean . . . No. He approached slowly and silently, careful not to scare his mother-in-law. Her sudden sobs, and heart wrenching sorrow made him lower his head as he approached. He stood with her, and was signifying this. Should anyone push to attack her or harm her, they would have to get through him first. ”Halt! This war ends now! We cannot continue down this path. Our children deserve peace, not the echoes of bloodshed.” His head perked at her words. His head rose to look out across the bloody field. Many lay dead, and he was happy his children were all unharmed mostly. Erik looked a little tattered, but they were all alive. As was Lova. A sigh of relief left his nares before Soraya spoke once more. "Each side must back down, relinquish power over one another, let us tend to the wounded, heal the scars that mar our lands, and find a path to peace."
A similar to Achilles looking male approached slowly, and Kublai made sure to stay close to her. His orange eyes stayed on the red and chocolate hued male. ”Sabertooth! As my father is unable to speak for the pack currently, you are to listen to me. Cease, and those who can, please gather the wounded and take them back to Sabertooth, where Kiera, Nightingale’s theta, will aid in healing. ”On behalf of Sabertooth, I, Aeolus, the heir of the Sabertooth throne, want to right and clarify a few wrongs that triggered this war, since my father is not in a capable state of doing so. Firstly, the children of Aurora and Odin will be handed over to Tarben, in a few days’ time. They are approaching adulthood, and we request that it is left up to them where they decide to go after they have stayed in tch’ya lands for a season. Secondly, I overheard that my adoptive brother had essentially kidnapped one of tch’ya princesses, and they both passed. Shuu’s plans and actions were not shared with anyone in Sabertooth, and frankly, we barely saw him over the past few seasons. Thirdly, Tarben is to keep tabs on Phobus. From my understanding, he was not supposed to leave tch’ya borders based off agreement with Hawthorne, Amberjorne, and Dawnshire from the last war, but he was clearly at Star Lake where he killed one of my sisters.”
Kublai gave a nod, though he knew Soraya was the one being spoken to. ”And finally, there must be a token of our treaty. I think a royal marriage would be fitting. Those details can be discussed at a later time, as I can safely assume we all want to take care of tch’ya wounded and deceased promptly. I’m sorry for your loss…es.” His eyes stayed on the heir of Sabertooth, his head lowering at the thought. Beartooth and Sorayas true-born kin were slim, if not already mated to another. His children would be instead married off more than likely. ”As a kindness, I’d like to extend forth my abilities to see in the spirit world, when tch’ya ready. For now, be well……Soraya.” The way the boy worded his mother-in-laws name made a chill run down Kublai's spine. As the royal sons gathered their parents, Kublai looked to Soraya. "We will have to give them an answer for their bargaining very soon. I have an idea." He said softly. "Nothing will happen to you, Soraya. You acted on instinct. Beartooth was . . . going mad, he would have plunged all of us into a death sentence. If you need anything, you know myself and Lova are always here for you." He said, looking out toward the river, the pink tree in the heart of Starfall. Yes. "I will attempt to fix the wrongs Beartooth commited us to."
