Apollo’s saddened, confused steely eyes looked at Misty, as her reaction appeared entirely opposite of his own – she was happy? “Don’t be sad, Apollo! Maybe the fates just needed to put it here long enough for us to find each other.” He narrowed his eyes. Did she understand how soulmate ties worked? Apollo had learned about them from his parents, who themselves had a permanent soulmate tie. They don’t just…fade, right?. Her next words kind of proved that ignorance. “After all, you don’t really need a permanent soulmate tie to find your mate, do you? I think it just didn’t need to be here all the time. Could you imagine dragging around a pink line all the time? If somebody ever hated you and wanted to kill your mate, they could just find you and then follow your line! Oh my, that got dark. Apologies, Apollo!” He could catch that Misty was excited, understandably, and as much as he wanted to feel excited, he needed to correct her understanding. Just as the winter sunset male was about to speak, Misty spoke once again. “Pardon me, that was unfortunate, I’m trying to say that-we don’t need the line, do we?” Don’t…need…the line? Apollo stepped back at those words, his maw slightly agape. Frankly, he had never asked his parents if the line still existed between the two of them, that is, still was tangible. But regardless, Apollo did not receive that last sentence as well as it could have been. "Misty…do you understand how these soulmate ties work?” He paused, clearing his throat as he stepped forward to back to where he originally was. "My parents have a soulmate tie, at least, from what they’ve told me. Only the two wolves connected by it can see the tie, so I don’t know if they still see the tie or not. But because of this, the idea of hunting down someone’s mate with use of the tie, well, is unlikely to happen.” He took a deep breath before sitting down, trying to compose his thoughts while Misty was obviously quite happy. It was not that he was unhappy, no, it was just that confusion overtook his emotions as his understanding of the world, that is, of soulmate ties, was just put into question. Apollo sighed and tried to meet Misty’s eyes before he spoke again. "Well, soulmate tie or not, Misty, you and I have not talked that much. I’d like to get to know you more.” He let a soft smile fall onto his maw, ears slightly folded back as a sign of being flustered. Actions &"Words"
