Not Strong Enough?
The Borealis was at a loss of her new appearance. Priding herself on her bright colors all of her life, her unique bloodline, and it was altered. Her pelt still remained, but she now had a crystaline horn that sprouted from her head and strange dragonfly wings. She looked so fragile. Everything she was raised to be and everything was becoming so messed up. She was to be a Queen, to be an Aurora forever. Now she was . . . different. The soulmate of a Dane Prince, the mate of the Sabertooth heir, and a Casheops. Her life felt like it was spiraling, and at the call of her father-in-law, she felt panicked. He sounded angered and upset.
Her gentle wings brought her swiftly with Hermes, Aphrodite, Adonis and Marzanna in tow as she came to the clearing. Hermes stopped, causing her to halt as well. Her icy gaze, confused, looked to her mate and then to the gray body in front of Achilles. Pandora laid over the body, grieving and nearly screaming in pain and despair. It was Hermes sister, Iris. She felt like she couldn't breathe, she was too stunned to speak. Would Hermes turn on her? Would the pack? Would she lose her children? She felt tears sting her eyes that had stayed open, just staring at the dead girl. "Aunt Iris . . ." Aphrodite quietly spoke, her head lowering. Adonis and Marzanna just stood silently, tears welling in their eyes over their lost family member.
Aurora felt her breathing crack, like a hiccup before she leaned on Hermes as Achilles spoke. After his speech, telling her she would be named a Zeta and remain with the children, she leaned her head into Hermes'. "I'm sorry . . . I'm so so sorry . . ." She whispered, tears falling down her cheeks. "This . . . This is all your fault. I hope she was worth your sisters death, Hermes. I hope she was worth the throne, the bastards, a war. I hope all of this was worth it." She flinched at the Queens outburst, though she felt it deserved. Her head lowered. "I'm sorry." Was all she managed to say, just above a whisper to everyone. Her eyes glanced to the King. "I do not deserve your kindness, but I thank you for the chance to stay with the children. I will protect them with my life." She said, her eyes drifting to the ground shortly after. If Hermes would speak to her, she would only find it in her to give short responses.
