Jinthe had put on some weight since her arrival. She was still gaunt, and she tired easily, but she was now possessed of healthy flowers; her eyes shone. She remembered nothing of her past, and made no attempts to. Sabertooth was her home. No matter what or who she had been, that was gone now. It was all past, and she didn’t need a crumb of it anymore.
Swooping into the clearing, she nearly fell from the sky as her senses were assaulted with the shock of the dead body. What had happened, who did it, who was it - and then she saw that the girl was a Skyling. She realized she didn’t know the dead woman’s name, but she definitely knew she was Aeolus’ sister . . . oh, heavens, this was not good, whatever had happened, that was plain to see.
Jinthe’s eyes found Aeolus as she landed, noting that he was teary. Her heart wrenched at the thought of the grief he must be feeling. The whole pack seemed about to tear apart at the seams, especially Aeolus’ mother, Queen Pandora.
Throughout Achilles’ whole speech, Jinthe stayed back. She felt she should pay respects, but she hadn’t known the princess . . . and the tension was too great for her to potentially puncture or add to.
“It started under neon lights, and then it all got dark!”
