The scaled male gathered up his and Artemis’ stragglers, shy Tyche and protective Lupin. “Come, children. Follow your mother, Selene, Aegaeon, and Lux.” He fixed up the den a little bit (Lupin had created a rather ugly pile of leaves in one corner) and then raced off after his mate and their children. He wasn’t going to lie, he was now on edge after hearing the tone of Achilles’ call. This summons seemed angry. And with that irresponsible prince having thrown Sabertooth onto the rim of a boiling pot, what with stealing another’s soulmate . . . could it be that war had finally come to Sabertooth?
And come it had, for he heard Tyche shriek. Fearing the worst, he quadrupled his pace . . . only to find a princess dead and bloody. That was what his delicate daughter had screamed at, then. He pulled Tyche close, hearing Artemis assure some of their other children. And it was worse to hear Achilles’ speech. Princess Iris was dead; Tarben had committed murder yet again; they had broken the deal. Remus and his mate would be on the front lines, alongside Achilles, Aeolus, Hermes, and Pandora. That scared him a little bit, but he also reveled in the thought of finally bringing down Beartooth. For Tiberias and Larentia. For every single wolf he’d killed in the first war, and for all who would perish in this one. Lazarus and Iris, and even the princess Phobus had violated, Wisteria.
“Don’t worry,” he told Tyche. “Sabertooth will win.”
"oh, you run away, because I am not what you found."
