Re: Spare, or spares, 10kW 316B on Mi Amigo 1972/3 to 1980
A photograph is your friend. The times de Kerf mast was grounded across the insulators was when it was shunt fed, with that clearly seen. Previous Message Wasn’t it also stated somewhere that it turns out that surface cracking on those three insulators supporting the the big triangular mast was perfectly normal, and not a structural concern at all, and that bridging them with welded steel had been unnecessary? Rob A Previous Message Thanks, I missed the fact that the 1187 broadcasts in 1972 preceded the '199' ones. Still I guess 199 came from the transmitter that must have been installed prior to the installation of the triangular mast. The triangular mast with the base insulators must have been the best setup ever on the Mi Amigo, from a radio engineers standpoint. Mechanically it wasn't very sustainable.
