Yes, there are a certain number of people who really are shut-ins, who are 100% home-bound, and absolutely cannot get out to do ANYTHING, including vote in person.
And yes, there are a certain number of people - like, in the military - who require absentee voting-by-mail.
But the vast majority of people are perfectly capable of showing up at their Registrar's Office, in-person, with an ID, to vote at some point in the three WEEKS or more before the election to vote.
It's absurd that Registrars now have to be capable of processing thousands and thousands of mail-in ballots, with signature verification and chain-of-custody requirements and etc...
...all because people can't find 10 minutes in their day, over a three weeks span, to go and vote?
