Having said that - there are very noticeable changes.

When I was a kid, we had 4 distinct seasons. No more. The overall climate in my neck of the woods has changed.

Our agricultural zone has changed from 4 to 5. Summer temps hitting 100 degrees was unheard of here. Our summers would hit the low 80s, and that was it. Winters were cold and snowy.

We have had incredibly hot weather here this past summer - and for many days too. It has scorched my landscape plants, all originally chosen by me because they were plants that preferred cooler summers (which we once had).

The midpoint of any given season is no longer stable. We have had cold days mixed with crazy hot days. We've had some pretty weird winter weather too (thunder storms no less). Our hummingbirds are arriving earlier than ever - my plants going dormant early due to stress. We are definitely going through changes.

Regardless of what is causing any of this (natural cycling of the planet, humans polluting and destroying the environment), it simply makes sense to take care of mother Earth and not abuse her. She was once a planet filled with natural beauty which we are slowly destroying - and she is our only home. We have no where else to go.

It simply makes sense to take care of our home. And why destroy such beauty?
