One of my worst students, an 8th grader, was passing a note around piano lab class, distracting everyone around her. I positioned myself to intercept the note from her hand. She immediately grabbed my hand and tried to pull the note away. She swung at my face, grabbed my hand and attempted to pull it to her mouth in effort to bite it.

The note was a detailed account of a sex and drug party at her aunt's house over the weekend. It was graphic and left nothing to imagination.

I sent the note to the "office," which managed to lose it, and then I had to apologize to that student in the principal's office for touching her hand.

The book I could write about my experiences would shock people. Things like this happen every day in classrooms where trumplike juvenile delinquents raise their hell at expense of learning.
